June Lake Trail Map · Hikes
Reversed Peak
A first family overnight that never leaves the Loop. Trailhead on North Shore Drive.
Map by Bill Tipton, made for the Yosemite Gateway Chalet. For planning: carry a real map and check conditions before you go.
The trailhead is on North Shore Drive by Gull Lake, so you never leave the June Lake Loop, and by the first switchback it feels like you have. A good first overnight for small backpackers. The Snow Lakes hold water in spring, and the trail continues past Aerie Crag to the summit. Near the top, a triangle in the rock frames the whole range. Finding it is half the fun.
